Fall Meeting Of The Southern Lepidopterists’ Society And The Association For Tropical Lepidoptera, October 5-7, 2007 And Call For Papers
The Annual Meeting is scheduled for October 5-7, 2007, in the McGuire Center for Lepidoptera and Biodiversity Conference Room, at the Florida Museum of Natural History, University of Florida. The McGuire Center is located adjacent to the Powell Hall on the University campus and can be accessed directly off 34th St. and Hull Road.

Special speaker: Dr. Torben Larsen. Dr. Larsen, originally an economist and evaluation specialists, was awarded a doctorate from Copenhagen University for his monographs on the butterflies of Jordan, Oman, Yemen and Arabia and subsequently has written additional volumes on Egypt, Kenya and more recently two volumes on the Butterflies of West Africa.

Dr. John Heppner is arranging a foreign collecting trip (perhaps to Guatemala) to begin following the meeting.

Accommodations: Gainesville has a wide variety of hotel and motel rooms available. A block of 10 rooms has been reserved at the Hilton Convention Center (352 371 3600) and will be available at the rate $129 (single or double) until Sepetember 5, 2007. Others with lower rates, such as the Rush Lake Motel (373 5000), Comfort Inn West (264 1771), and Holiday Inn Express (376 0004) are located not far from the McGuire Center.
