Field Trips
Members attending the joint ATL/SLS meeting will have the opportunity to participate in the Friday field trips to Goethe State Forest lead by Jeff Slotten. Meals and drinks will not be provided nor will there be extra transportation. We will meet at the Powell Hall, Florida Museum of Natural History entrance in the Cultural Plaza at 9 a.m. on Friday morning, October 5th for the day trip.
Jeff will be leading the moth trip in the evening, and he will meet the group at the same place at 4:30 p.m. Members attending the evening trip should be prepared to pick up something fairly quick to eat (dinner nor drinks will be provided) and drive out to the Goethe Forest and organize in the parking lot of Forest Headquarters on route 337 just south of route 121. This is located southwest of Williston, Levy Co., Florida. James Adams and Irving Finklestein will be along on this trip, and the group plans to blacklight until 11:30 p.m. They will then pack up the lights and return to Gainesville so that members can rest and then be ready to attend the morning meeting presentations.
If you plan to attend these field trips, please contact Jeff Slotten via email at or via his cell phone (904 699 3478)
